About me

About me

I came to the Czech Republic in 2014. At that time my knowledge of Czech was at a beginner’s level. I started attending Czech courses and I liked learning the language so much that I continued to learn and deepen my knowledge. Subsequently, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Czech Language and Literature at Masaryk University in Brno.

During my studies I worked in different parts of the Czech Republic as an interpreter and translator for people from Ukrainian and Russian speaking backgrounds who were interested in working here. I translated a number of production and technical documents, instructions, manuals and guides, according to the needs of a particular production plant or agency. In my final year of study, I taught Czech in a language school and also privately.

After school, I looked for a job in the field I had studied. However, fate led me to a completely different field. Family, relatives, friends and former students convinced me that teaching was what I should do. I told myself that maybe one day…… time I returned to teaching and I have no regrets. It really seems to be my path.

Although my college studies enriched me immensely, I often missed the explanation or interpretation of the meaning of a word or phrase. Not always what translates literally has the same meaning in different languages. This led me to develop my own method of learning a foreign language, which I pass on in my classes.

As someone whose mother tongue is not English, and who learned it step by step, I know very well how you feel. Whether you’re just starting out with Czech or you have the basics and need to improve. Having been down this road myself, I dare say I know how to do it.

It will be an honor and a pleasure to be your guide in learning the Czech language.
